How to Properly Pack
So you're going on a trip. Well, good for you! Weather you're going for a few days or a couple of weeks, it's time to take some consideration into what you're going to need to bring with you.
A great deal of packing clothes and whatever you will need is going to depend on weather conditions, what you're going to be doing and weather you are traveling by car or your destination means you'll be taking a plane.
Let's take a simple scenario of traveling for a week to the beach by car. The first thing you need to do is set aside all the toiletries that you will need so you don't have to buy them. I've been there and done that one. Think carefully on your routine that you automatically do at home. If you're a woman, you automatically want to set aside a hair dryer and any other styling products you use for your hair. Don't forget your favorite shampoo! I usually put things like my toothbrush and toothpaste in a baggie. And don't forget to bring any medication you may be taking. I also put that in a baggie. Suntan lotion is a must if you are going to the beach.
Start going through your wardrobe of clothes that you want to bring with you and set them on the bed. You'll want to bring a couple of extra changes of clothes. Try to coordinate clothes together so you don't have a haphazard wardrobe. Make sure you set aside rain gear as nature does not always cooperate with us. You'll want to be prepared for any type of weather, so this may include taking an umbrella with you.
Now how about shoes? Are you going casual, or do you plan to be going out on the town? If going out on the town, anything you might want to wear should only be easy care and be able to stay as wrinkle free as possible.
Now that you're sure you have everything that you will need for your trip laid out on the bed, it's time to make sure you have the right size suitcase or suitcases. The last thing you want to do is cram things in a suitcase. Start with placing lingerie on the bottom of the suitcase, and don't forget to include a robe so you'll be comfortable if it's cold. Then you can put shorts, jeans and casual tops over those because it doesn't matter if these wrinkle. It's a good idea to put anything that does wrinkle easily on hangers so you can keep them in a closet while at your destination.
Some suitcases have slots for shoes and you would use them for that purpose. If not, place your shoes off to the side of the suitcase. In the case of sneakers, wrap them in a pillow case.
The last thing you will do is place your toiletries that have been placed in baggies and put them either on top of everything else or in the pockets that may be provided in your suitcase.
Double check that you haven't forgotten anything you may need.
You're now good to go.
